Our Finca El Puente produced by Marysabel Caballero and Moisés Herrera on their farm from from Chinacla municipality in La Paz, Honduras, is a low intervention, washed SL-28 cultivar coffee.
The flavor profile has a unique depth and character that left us captivated. We even tasted some additional notes of citrus and floral with a herbaceous quality on certain brews.
Farm Story:
Marysabel Caballero’s connection to coffee runs profoundly through her family’s legacy, as she proudly represents the fourth generation of coffee producers, with roots tracing back to 1907. In 1996, Moisés Herrera from Guatemala married Marysabel, and together they embarked on their journey as coffee cultivators. Their farm, Finca el Puente, has consistently achieved top-tier placements in Honduras’ annual Cup of Excellence competition since the first auction in 2004. Although we have only known them since 2016, we have been welcomed with such warmth and generosity, feeling like part of their family.
Marysabel and Moisés oversee a total of 36 distinct plots of land, with each contributing unique nuances to their coffee profiles. Ranging from the high-altitude climates of Santa Ana to the warmer, tropical conditions of Marcala, each municipality imparts its own special characteristics to their coffees.
