The naturally processed East Java Walida is a beautifully layered coffee with a luxurious mouthfeel and a vivid, fruit-driven character. As a medium roast, this coffee takes on a bold, decadent profile: rich dark chocolate, cherry compote, and hints of spiced berry jam, all anchored by a heavy, syrupy body. A dynamic coffee that carries its complexity across the roast spectrum, shining equally as a complex pour-over or a dessert-like espresso
Farm Story and Impact:
In Tlogosari Village, East Java, the Walida Cooperative is a social non-profit led by Ahmad Muhlisin in partnership with Belift Green Beans. The cooperative grows coffee and allocates 20% of profits to fund a tuition-free K–12 school for local children. After completing university, Ahmad returned to his village and launched the co-op to improve education access and create long-term value in the community. Walida coffee is grown in the foothills of Mount Argopuro in the Situbondo Regency. The coffee is naturally processed due to limited water availability in the region and the absence of government-supported irrigation infrastructure. Cherries are selectively harvested, sorted by flotation, and sun-dried on raised beds before being hulled, density-sorted, and packed for export.
